Specifications
Calcium Citrate is used as helant, buffer, coagulant, calcareous intensified agent in food and phamrmaceutical industry
[Chemical Name]: 2-hydroxypropane-1, 2, 3-tricarboxylate Ca3
[Formula]: C12H10Ca3014.4H20
[Molecular weight]: 570.50
[Specification]: Powder Granular: 20-80mesh
Calcium Citrate Properties
Calcium citrate is the calcium salt of citric acid. It is commonly used as a food additive (E333), usually as apreservative, but sometimes for flavor. In this sense, it is similar to sodium citrate. Calcium citrate is also used as a water softener because the citrate ions can chelate unwanted metal ions. Calcium citrate is also found in some dietary calcium supplements (e. G. Citracal).
[Specificity]: White powder, odorless, slightly deliquescence, difficulty soluble in water, in-soluble in ethanol, when heated to 100, it may lose crystal water, when heated to 138, the crystal will lost water completely.
Usage: Helant, buffer, coagulant, calcareous intensified agent.
In food processing industry, used as buffer, chelate agent, nutrient additive, emulsifier, and flavor for yoghurt.
In pharmaceutical industry, used as anticoagulant and as preservative in syrup manufactured goods, buffer acidity acid in cold drink, prevent acid in dairy products. Used as binder in cheese and minced meat, acid coagulant in jellies and jam, emulsifier and stabilizer in cheese and ice cream.
